‘What Exactly Do You Want From Me?’ – Eniola Badmus Slams Trolls Over Weight-Loss Criticism

Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has called on social media users to embrace kindness and empathy after facing relentless body-shaming before and after her remarkable weight-loss transformation.

The actress made the appeal in an Instagram post shared on Friday, July 10, 2026, where she reflected on the emotional toll of years of online criticism over her appearance.

Badmus disclosed that she has endured harsh comments both as a plus-size woman and after shedding nearly half of her body weight, saying the public scrutiny has remained constant despite her efforts to improve her health.

According to the actress, she weighed 170 kilograms five years ago but now weighs 83 kilograms, describing the transformation as the result of years of discipline, sacrifice, consistency and determination.

“Five years ago, I weighed 170KG. Today, in 2026, I weigh 83KG. That didn’t happen overnight. It took years of discipline, sacrifice, pain, consistency, tears, setbacks and choosing my health every single day,” she wrote.

Responding to critics who have mocked changes in her appearance following the weight loss, Badmus questioned why her personal health journey had become a target for ridicule.

“What exactly do you want from me? When someone loses almost 90KG, it’s completely normal for the skin to change. Of course, my skin will adjust. I’m doing my best, taking care of myself, using collagen, staying healthy and embracing every stage of this transformation,” she stated.

The actress stressed that although she rarely responds to online attacks, the hurtful comments still affect her emotionally.

“Just because I don’t respond to the insults doesn’t mean they don’t hurt. It doesn’t mean I’m weak. It doesn’t mean I don’t have feelings. I’m human. Blood runs through my veins just like yours. Words have consequences,” she added.

Badmus further appealed to Nigerians to be more compassionate toward people experiencing personal transformations, noting that many of the hurtful remarks directed at her came from fellow women.

She urged the public to respect individual body journeys while encouraging healthier lifestyles, emphasizing that everyone deserves dignity regardless of their appearance.

Her comments have reignited discussions about online bullying, body image, and the intense public scrutiny celebrities often face over their physical appearance.

Despite the criticism, Badmus maintained that her priority remains protecting her health and celebrating the progress she has achieved throughout her weight-loss journey.
