Davido Set to Light Up FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert in Los Angeles

Global football governing body, the FIFA, has announced Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido as one of the headline performers for the Los Angeles edition of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert series.
In a statement released on Tuesday, FIFA revealed that Davido will share the stage with Major Lazer, the globally acclaimed music project led by Diplo, during the event scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, at the iconic Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
The concert is part of a groundbreaking synchronized live music series taking place across the three FIFA World Cup 2026 host nations — Canada, Mexico, and the United States — as excitement builds toward the tournament.
“Los Angeles will play host to a high-energy celebration, featuring Diplo’s Major Lazer and Davido, the first artists announced for what promises to be an unforgettable night of music, football and culture,” FIFA said.
According to the organization, doors for the event will open at 5:00 p.m. PT, while the live broadcast is expected to begin at 6:00 p.m. PT.
The Los Angeles concert will be linked with simultaneous performances in Mexico City and Toronto, creating a unique cross-border entertainment experience celebrating the spirit of the upcoming World Cup.
Speaking on the initiative, Manolo Zubiria described the series as a celebration of unity and cultural connection.
“The Countdown Concert series celebrates the passion, unity and cultural connections across three countries and around the world that define the FIFA World Cup 2026,” he said.
“Just two days before the opening match in the United States, Los Angeles will put on an unforgettable show featuring top talent in one of the world’s premier entertainment capitals, bringing together music, football and fans in a global celebration as we prepare to welcome the world.”
FIFA also announced that ticket sales will begin on June 3 at 10:00 a.m. PST. Fans across the globe will be able to follow the event through FIFA’s digital platforms, with the official FIFA World Cup TikTok account serving as the exclusive social media livestream partner.
Additionally, the full concert, including behind-the-scenes footage and exclusive content, will be available the following day on FIFA’s video-on-demand platform, VuMe Live.
The announcement further reinforces Davido’s growing international profile as one of Africa’s biggest musical exports, with the singer set to showcase Nigerian music and culture on one of football’s biggest global stages ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
