Nigerian actress and content creator Mummy Wa has revealed why she remains single as she nears 30, joking that her love for fictional characters and celebrity crushes has shaped her relationship expectations.

Nigerian content creator and actress Kemi Ikuseedun, popularly known as Mummy Wa, has opened up about her relationship status, revealing that her fascination with fictional characters is one of the reasons she remains single as she approaches her 30th birthday.

Speaking during a video broadcast, the popular skitmaker shared a humorous but relatable perspective on romance, admitting that many of her romantic expectations were shaped by characters she admired in movies and television dramas.

According to Mummy Wa, she often found herself emotionally invested in fictional personalities, making it difficult to connect with real-life partners.

“The reason why I am still single is because I went to go and fall in love with a fictional character. And it is not only me; a lot of women fall for fictional characters. But where are we going to see him?” she said.

The actress specifically mentioned South Korean actor Lee Min-ho, whose role as Gu Jun-pyo in the hit drama series Boys Over Flowers left a lasting impression on her.

“I am almost 30, and I am still waiting for Lee Min Ho. What if I meet Lee Min Ho in real life and he is not the same as the person in ‘Boys Over Flowers’?” she joked.

She further admitted that her attraction to fictional characters has played a significant role in her love life.

“Honestly, I am still single because it is only fictional characters I keep falling for,” she added.

Her comments quickly resonated with fans on social media, with many women admitting they had experienced similar feelings toward fictional characters, celebrities, and romantic leads in movies, television dramas, and novels.

The light-hearted revelation sparked conversations about the impact of entertainment on relationship expectations and how idealised portrayals of romance can influence perceptions of real-life relationships.

Mummy Wa gained widespread fame through her comedy skits with content creator Mr Macaroni, where her portrayal of the beloved “Mummy Wa” character earned her a loyal following. Since then, she has expanded her career as an actress, influencer, and digital content creator, becoming one of Nigeria’s most recognisable entertainment personalities.

Although her remarks were made in jest, many fans found them relatable, highlighting the challenge of separating fantasy from reality when it comes to matters of the heart.
