ADC Unveils Kaduna Senatorial Candidates as Party Concludes 2027 Primaries

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has concluded its senatorial primaries in Kaduna State, producing candidates for the three senatorial districts ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Chairman of the Primary Elections Committee in Kaduna State, Mr. Ladan Salihu, announced the results during a press briefing in Kaduna on Sunday, describing the exercise as a reflection of the party’s commitment to transparency and internal democracy.

Salihu noted that the party had previously conducted its presidential and governorship primaries, while the latest round covered senatorial, House of Representatives, and selected State House of Assembly elections.

According to him, all successful aspirants emerged through a process conducted in line with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines.

For Kaduna North Senatorial District, Sen. Khalid Ibrahim Mustafa Soba secured the party’s ticket after polling 83,070 votes in an uncontested election, as announced by Returning Officer Ibrahim Sidi Bamalli.

In Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Sen. Lawal Adamu Usman emerged as the ADC candidate with 47,488 votes, also running unopposed. The result was declared by Returning Officer Abdullahi Chiromawa.

Meanwhile, in Kaduna South Senatorial District, Mr. Godfrey Ali Gaya clinched victory with 28,378 votes, defeating his challenger, Mr. Aminchi Abu, who garnered 5,299 votes. Returning Officer Murtala Abubakar announced the result.

Salihu formally declared the winners as the ADC’s candidates for the 2027 general elections and expressed confidence in their ability to strengthen the party’s electoral prospects in Kaduna State.

He added that the successful conclusion of the primaries positions the party for an active campaign season as political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of the next general elections.
