Susan Peters Appeals for Return of Stolen iPhone After Alex Ekubo’s Memorial Service in Lagos

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Susan Peters has appealed to the public for assistance in recovering her missing mobile phone after it was reportedly stolen during the service of songs held in honour of late actor Alex Ekubo in Lagos State.
The emotional gathering, which took place on Wednesday at The Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, attracted family members, colleagues, gospel ministers and other dignitaries who came together to pay tribute to the late actor.
However, Peters disclosed that her white iPhone 16 Pro Max went missing during the event, an incident that has since sparked concern within entertainment circles.
In a post shared via her Instagram page on Thursday, the actress revealed that the device was taken from her bag during the memorial service. She appealed directly to whoever might have taken the phone to return it, noting that it contains important personal information.
According to Peters, the iPhone is locked and connected to her United States phone line, making it virtually useless to anyone else. She further warned that the device contains identifiable details and can be traced, urging the individual responsible not to attempt to sell it.
Expressing disappointment over the incident, the actress questioned how such an act could occur during a solemn occasion dedicated to celebrating the life of a departed colleague.
She also called on members of the public to help amplify her appeal in the hope that the phone would be returned.
The service of songs was organised in honour of the late actor Alex Ekubo, who died on May 11 following a battle with kidney cancer. The event featured prayers, worship sessions and heartfelt tributes from friends and associates.
Prominent clerics, including Pastors Jerry Eze and Ituah Ighodalo, ministered during the gathering as preparations continue for Ekubo’s burial rites in Abia State.
As of the time of filing this report, no official statement had been issued regarding the disappearance of Peters’ phone, and it remains unclear whether the matter has been reported to law enforcement authorities.
