‘Divorce Doesn’t Diminish a Woman’s Value’ – Kaffy Opens Up on Love, Healing and Single Motherhood

4views

Renowned Nigerian dancer and choreographer Kaffy has sparked widespread conversations on societal perceptions of divorced women after candidly sharing her experiences with love, healing and single motherhood.

Speaking during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, the award-winning entertainer reflected on the challenges divorced women face in a society where separation often attracts stigma and judgment.

Kaffy questioned the widespread belief that divorced women are less desirable partners, revealing that she had once been rejected by a potential partner simply because she had two children.

“What makes you think that a woman that has been divorced is not even the better candidate if she has worked on herself?” she asked during the interview.

According to the mother of two, emotional growth and self-awareness gained through life’s difficult experiences can make individuals better partners rather than diminish their worth.

She also challenged the notion that only people who have never been married are ideal candidates for lasting relationships, arguing that marital success is not guaranteed by a person’s relationship history.

“Over 70 percent of marriages crash. What’s the guarantee that two single people today won’t be divorced tomorrow?” Kaffy said.

The dance icon, who was previously married to former Psquare drummer Joseph Ameh for nearly a decade, spoke openly about the emotional burden of rebuilding her life after divorce while raising her children.

Addressing common misconceptions about romance, Kaffy noted that genuine love should provide stability rather than emotional turmoil.

“The butterflies in your tummy are a trauma response. Real love brings peace, not butterflies,” she stated.

Describing herself as a disciplined and responsible woman, Kaffy emphasised that she does not engage in casual relationships and remains committed to raising her children with resilience and purpose.

Her remarks have since resonated with many social media users, particularly divorced women and single mothers, who applauded her honesty and courage in speaking about experiences often endured in silence.

The conversation has reignited broader discussions about societal expectations, second chances, and the importance of emotional healing in building healthier relationships.
