Manchester United have confirmed that they will round off their pre-season preparations with a high-profile friendly against AC Milan in Wroclaw, Poland, as the club intensifies preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.

The English giants announced on Tuesday that the clash against the Italian heavyweights will take place on August 15, just days before the start of the new Premier League season.

The fixture forms part of an extensive pre-season schedule designed to help manager Michael Carrick fine-tune his squad following United’s encouraging third-place finish in the previous campaign.

United will kick off their pre-season programme against Wrexham in Helsinki, Finland, on July 18 before travelling to Norway to face Rosenborg in Trondheim the following week.

The Red Devils will then head to Sweden for two major encounters, beginning with a meeting against Atletico Madrid in the Snapdragon Cup in Stockholm on August 1.

A week later, Carrick’s men will take on reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain in Gothenburg in what promises to be one of the standout fixtures of their summer tour.

Manchester United will also renew hostilities with long-time rivals Leeds United in Dublin on August 12 before concluding their preparations with the clash against AC Milan in Poland three days later.

Speaking on the club’s official website, United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, said the tour would provide valuable preparation ahead of the new season while strengthening the club’s connection with supporters across Europe.

“We’re excited to be concluding our pre-season tour in Wroclaw, Poland, with a big game against AC Milan,” Wilcox said.

“With fixtures now confirmed across five countries and six fantastic cities, these matches will provide strong preparation for the 2026-27 season and a valuable opportunity to connect with our incredible fans across Europe. Their support will be vital as we build momentum.”

The tour will see Manchester United play across Finland, Norway, Sweden, Ireland and Poland, offering Carrick an opportunity to assess his squad against a diverse range of opponents before competitive action resumes.

With encounters against some of Europe’s most recognisable clubs, United’s pre-season schedule is expected to provide an early indication of the team’s readiness as they aim to build on last season’s progress and challenge for major honours in the upcoming campaign.
