“Tinubu’s Achievements Will Silence Critics, Guarantee 2027 Victory – Matawalle”

The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu’s performance in office will ultimately win over Nigerians and pave the way for his re-election in 2027.
Matawalle made the remarks on Tuesday during a Contact and Sensitisation Retreat organised by the North-West Tinubu/Matawalle Peace and Unity Initiatives in Sokoto, where he accused critics of the administration of deploying falsehoods and propaganda to undermine the President’s achievements.
According to the minister, such campaigns would fail to overshadow the impact of Tinubu’s policies and ongoing reforms across key sectors of the country.
“Those attacking President Tinubu with lies and propaganda will be disappointed. His achievements and commitment to national development will speak for themselves in 2027,” Matawalle stated.
He maintained that the President had demonstrated decisive leadership by confronting insecurity, pursuing economic reforms and supporting strategic sectors critical to national development.
Matawalle further argued that the administration had significantly strengthened the operational capacity of the Armed Forces and other security agencies, resulting in notable progress in the fight against insecurity, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
“President Tinubu inherited serious security and governance challenges, but he has shown courage and determination in addressing them. His administration continues to invest in security, infrastructure, education and human capital development,” he said.
The minister also condemned what he described as deliberate attempts by certain political actors to misinform the public and discredit the Federal Government.
“It is unfortunate that some individuals have chosen to spread misinformation and negative narratives despite the administration’s efforts to promote unity, peace and progress,” Matawalle added.
He urged Nigerian youths to resist being used as instruments of divisive political propaganda capable of threatening national stability.
“Our youths must reject falsehood and focus on initiatives that promote national development, peace and social harmony,” he advised.
Earlier, the Lead Convener of the North-West Tinubu/Matawalle Peace and Unity Initiatives, Yusuf Abubakar, explained that the retreat was organised to deepen grassroots support for President Tinubu and highlight the administration’s achievements.
“Our objective is to mobilise support by educating Nigerians on the President’s policies, reforms and development agenda,” Abubakar said.
He called for stronger collaboration among stakeholders to sustain awareness of government programmes and commended Matawalle for his role in mobilisation efforts across the North-West region.
The retreat attracted 58 leaders of community groups, associations and ambassadors drawn from Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara and Kaduna states.
